Propylene Glycol (PG)

known also by the systematic name propane-1,2-diol, is an organic compound (a diol alcohol), usually a tasteless, odorless, and colorless clear oily liquid that is hygroscopic and miscible with water, acetone, and chloroform. Also due to their low freezing point and freezing point depressant and high boiling point are predominantly used in heat transfer fluids. Propylene glycol is commonly considered to be environmentally friendly and non-toxic and is quite biodegradable.
