CFR EnviroDrill - Invert Replacement System

CFR EnviroDrill (oilfield drilling compound) Drilling Fluid Base Oils are light, colorless oils with very low aromatics content, low viscosity and mild odor. All CFR EnviroDrill base oils are well suited as high-performance, low toxicity, non-polluting replacements for diesel oil in oilfield drilling applications. EnviroDrill has been field proven as base oil in drilling muds, as water-based mud additives, and as spotting fluids. CFR EnviroDrill-210 Drilling Fluid Base Oil offers a high flash point as an added safety factor in critical drilling situations and for storage.

Applications
- CFR EnviroDrill base oils retain the desirable mud properties of diesel or mineral oil-based drilling fluids (such as thermal stability, lubricity and low maintenance cost) while minimizing or eliminating diesel's undesirable features.
- The low viscosity of CFR EnviroDrill base oils provide more efficient transmission of hydraulic power to the drill bit resulting in energy savings. Oil-based muds prepared with CFR EnviroDrill oil have shown increased drilling rates compared to equivalent diesel-based drilling fluids. Reduced mud maintenance costs are possible when using CFR EnviroDrill products as base oils due to the exceptional chemistry stability of the resulting mud systems.
- Solids control in mud systems based on EnviroDrill oils is improved because finer screens can be used (100 and 120 square mesh vs. oblong mesh) and the need for additional solids control equipment is significantly reduced. Special operations, such as series centrifugation, can be accomplished more efficiently because the viscosities of processed EnviroDrill muds are lower than with equivalent diesel based muds.
- Based on results from established testing protocols, CFR EnviroDrill oils greatly reduce aquatic toxicological concerns associated with the use of diesel in oil-based drilling fluids. Unlike diesel oil, cleanup of an EnviroDrill mud is relatively simple and is comparable to a water-based drilling fluid. Detection of hydrocarbons in drilling cuttings is simplified because CFR EnviroDrill products are non-fluorescent.
